Easy Arts and Crafts For Kids From The Dollar Tree

Going to The Dollar Tree every month has always been something I have gotten in the habit of doing. They have many useful things which are usually in good condition at an affordable price. I especially love to go there to get things for my babysitting bag, which is a bag with toys, crafts and activities for all the kids I babysit (I bring a bag for the kids when I babysit).

Easy Arts and Crafts For Kids From The Dollar Tree

  1. Lay out all your supplies- Lay out as many craft supplies as you think your kids might want to use to make their Chalkboard Crown door hanger.
  2. Decide which color crown- Let your kids choose a color for their crown. They come in packages of 24 and there are six colors to choose from (orange, dark green, pink, lime green, purple and yellow).
  3. Place the chalkboard sticker- Help her put the chalkboard sticker where ever she wants on her crown.
  4. Decorate- Let your kids decorate their crown anyway they want. You may want to remind them not to decorate the actual chalkboard. Some kids will want to paint it, or put glitter on it.
  5. Add the hanger- glue a loop of yarn or string to the back of each crown so that you can hang it up when it dries.
  6. Let it dry- If you used glue or paint, let it dry overnight.
  7. Hang it up- When it is completely dry, hang it up on the wall or door. It is even small enough to hang around the door knob, but not so small that you and kids can’t write messages or draw on it.

The Dollar Tree and other discount craft and toy outlets are a great place to find creative things to keep the kids busy and give you a good time in the process. They have isles of easy arts and crafts for kids. It’s also a great place to go for ideas and inspiration for indoor games for kids and fun outdoor games for kids, as well.

  1. Like you, I’m a huge fan of The Dollar Tree. Sure they’ve got some cheap quality products in their inventory, but you can also find some real bargains, too. Arts and crafts items, as you point out, are one of those gems. You can go in there with $20 and come out with a nice haul.

  2. This is the kind of stuff the kids and I loved to do when they were younger. We don’t have the “Dollar Tree” here but have our own version of it. Really cool project you’ve wrapped up here.

    Thanks for the great post.

    Best wishes.
    Ty

  3. After a short visit to this page I found some really great ideas that will make me come back. The Dollar Tree and even in my are The Family Dollar are great location to help folks save. Who needs to pay top dollar for some things that will just get broken or lost. It would be like throwing money out the window.
